Why you must clean up after your dog
Cleaning up after your dog costs nothing and takes only a few seconds each time. Failing to clean up after your dog can cost you a whole lot more!
- Dog excrement carries disease
Toxocara, a type of worm found in most dogs, can lead to disease in humans, epilepsy and even permanent blindness - children are most at risk.
- Dog excrement smells disgusting
Do you want your friends and family to put up with the smell of dog fouling on their shoes or clothes?
- It's the decent thing to do
As a member of the community, you have a moral obligation to clean up after your dog.
- It's the law
If you don't clean up after your dog, you could be given a £40 Fixed Penalty Fine or face a criminal conviction.
Remember, children often play in long grass so you must clean up after your dog wherever it fouls.
